Types Of Glass Fire Protection Glass Channel Glass Solar Control Glass Solar Energy Structural Glazing Double Glazed Insulating Units Double Glazed Insulating Units can be incorporated into the Pilkington Planar™ System to give better thermal insulation: generally they comprise of: an outer pane of 10, 12, 15 or 19 mm thick glass, the airspace width is 16 mm - the optimum for thermal insulation, an inner pane of 6 mm thick glass; laminated glass can be incorporated into the Insulating Glass Units; low emissivity Pilkington K Glass™, Pilkington Planar™ Suncoated High Performance Glass and argon filling can also be used to increase thermal performance; a discrete injection moulded boss is used at each fitting location to enable the bolt to pass through the two panes of glass and the airspace and fasten back to the structure; the spacer bar is of a unique patented profile that has been specifically designed to accommodate large deflections and safeguard the unit durability. A stainless steel conventional spacer of conventional profile is also available.
