A recent refurbishment of an historical hotel with a wonderful view of the Bay of Naples has been enriched by the use of Pilkington Eclipse™ Gold.
Facing the Bay and Mount Vesuvius, in one of the city’s most charming blocks, the Hotel Britannique Naples has become a shining example of creativity and functionality – thanks to the widespread use of Pilkington Eclipse™ Gold.
When planning the interiors, glass featured prominently in the design, not only as a finishing material, but also as a structural and technological element. But for the key role – that of making the interior environment unique and welcoming with a touch of refinement – only Pilkington Eclipse™ Gold, with its rich reflective properties, fitted the bill. Its properties fulfilled the Gnosis design studio’s overarching vision – that of providing the hotel with a seamless flow of natural light from the rooftop gourmet restaurant to the bar counters on ground floor.
The glazed surface version of Pilkington Eclipse™ Gold 8 mm provides a distinctive golden reflection that works wonderfully with decorative motifs to produce astonishing light effects and shapes at different hours of the day.
Even more surprising effects are created throughout by the use of ‘Linen’ - a partial glaze finish complete with a geometrical decoration created by OmniDecor. It is fingerprint and scratch-proof with an irregular surface mesh that blends perfectly with the surrounding environment, providing rich golden reflections from every angle.

Glass is a solid barrier, very thin and permeable to light: these properties allow you to separate and distinguish spaces in a delicate, non-invasive way. However, since partitioning in many cases must also be a visual and enriching experience, transparent glass is unsuitable”. Pilkington Eclipse™ Gold made it possible to create perfect partitions, which combine creativity and functionality, while maintaining the brightness of the interior spaces and at the same time providing an attractive aesthetic result:

Pilkington Eclipse™ Gold is available in 6 and 8 mm thickness through the usual supply channels; thanks to its highly durable pyrolytic coating, the product can be toughened to provide a safe interior glass, in accordance with the national legislation.
