Ageing tests carried out at high temperatures and high humidity prove that Pilkington OptiShower™ glass outperforms untreated glass in limiting corrosion and limescale deposits. The advanced technology in the manufacturing process enables a combination of transparency with excellent anti-corrosive characteristics, thereby eliminating the problem of limescale deposits on the surface of the glass.
Thanks to its special pyrolytic anti-corrosion coating, which allows water to flow freely across its surface, Pilkington OptiShower™ is very easy to clean. In addition, its high transparency ensures unobstructed views - even after the glass is toughened.

Because Pilkington OptiShower™ is neutral-coloured and demonstrates a high quality performance in the face of humidity, corrosive materials and limescale deposits, it is the perfect choice for creating beautiful shower cubicles. It is also available in an acid-etched version, Pilkington OptiShower™ Opal, that is enriched with a superb high-quality satin finish. This product is also perfect for outdoor applications where eye-catching privacy screens can ensure an excellent balance between light transmission and seclusion levels. Both versions are available on a clear or extra-clear glass substrate.
Aquariums and car washes
Being constantly immersed in water, aquariums require regular cleaning that includes a monthly partial change of water, which is likely to accelerate the aging of the glass. Similarly, car washes comprise repeated drying and wetting cycles, which over time would normally cause deterioration. Pilkington OptiShower™, with its anti-corrosion coating, prevents these major problems and preserves the transparency of the glass.
The nautical environment
Pilkington OptiShower™ has been tested to withstand outdoor weather conditions and meets the most stringent requirements according to EN 1096-2. Thanks to its high resistance, it can be used on sea-going vessels including yachts and cruise ships, for parapets and external windows.
