Keeping heat inside

Low emissivity 'low-e' glass is designed to reflect internally produced heat back into a room and also to maximise the use of the available free heat from the sun. Having low-e glass in your conservatory enables you to save on your heating bills by using less heat to keep your conservatory warm. In comparison, ordinary glass offers poor insulation. These unique properties keep your conservatory warmer, meaning you can run your heating system for a shorter period and still remain just as comfortable.

Insulating glass units with Pilkington K Glass™ will typically keep an unheated conservatory comfortable for a greater part of the year than ordinary double glazing, allowing you to make the most of your conservatory all year round. Pilkington K Glass™ prevents more heat escaping through the window than ordinary glass. Its special energy saving coating lets the sun's rays through, but reflects warmth from fires and radiators back into the room. The good insulation offered by Pilkington K Glass™ makes the inner pane of a window much warmer. This eliminates cold spots, increases the amount of usable floor space and helps reduce unsightly internal condensation.
